HEY EVERYONE! TODAY I AM GOING TO BE GIVING A REVIEW ABOUT MY TOP THREE FAVORITE BOOKS THAT HAVE REALLY IMPACTED MY LIFE IN MANY WAYS, AND BOOKS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO YOU ALL. THE FIRST ONE IS FOR PEOPLE LOOKING TO LIVE A HEALTHIER LIFE, THE SECOND IS AN INSPIRATIONAL STORY OF A YOUNG LADY GIVING UP HER LIFE TO LIVE FOR CHRIST, AND THE THIRD IS THE STORY OF TOW YOUNG SISTERS AND THEIR REMARKABLE JOURNEY. Reshaping it All motivation for physical and spiritual fitness by Candace Cameron Bure Many of us look and look for a healthy balance in life when it comes to fitness, health and shaking free from the bondage of food. We constantly are going from one extreme to another; only to end up in the same place we were before. Don't worry, your not the only one. In this book, Candace tells us of her search and finally lifestyle of a healthy balance to living our life; free from the bondage of food. "It all starts in your mind", she states "We must be willing to change our way of thinking in order to change our habits". Unlike your usual, dry weight-loss book, Candace spices it up by inviting God into the picture, and not only focusing on your outward glow but your inward glow as well with inspirational verses, inspiring quotes, and changing your whole outlook on living a healthy life to be more focused on moderation of the food we love eating, instead of the-all-we-want-healthy-buffet-food-eating. I have read this book twice already being that I honestly struggle with eating to the extreme and not having a balance in life to enjoy the foods I love (aka pizza, cupcakes, m&ms, ice cream, cookies, and many more trust me! :) ) I have found that she has helped me to understand eating healthy doesn't mean I have to be drinking green smoothies and eating bland dinners all the time. You have to find that balance and use the willpower in you to eat in moderation and ultimately live a healthier life glorifying God with all that we put in our bodies. Kisses from Katie a story of relentless love and redemption By Katie Davis Imagine this: you are an 18 year old senior class president, offered a college education by your parents who would do anything to see that you are happy and comfortable, one younger brother, many supporting friends, and a very serious relationship with the love of your life. Many of us live this comforting, safe, "normal" life today, without paying much more thought or attention to the millions around the world that do not. Katie was one of those young women that was called by God to go and help those people, halfway across the world to Uganda, Africa. This is her true story of sacrifice and obedience, but most importantly, love to those most of us would only see as poor, disease infested, dirty children. One by one she washes, feeds, clothes and teaches these children, adopting 13 of her own and becoming their mother. Giving up everything that was ever comfort to her, This is a remarkable story about serving and obeying Christ in the modern day that you will want to pick up more then once and read, and one that has so much depth and meaning it will make you cry. I have recommended this book to many people and have read it myself twice. Her writing is wonderful and I look up to her for her tremendous faith and courage in our Lord. Alone yet not Alone the story of Barbara and Regina Leininger by Tracy Michele Leininger Set in the rich wilderness of Pennsylvania in the autumn of 1755, two sisters; Barbara and Regina , have just settled in with their family and are enjoying their new life on the frontier, rejoicing in the fullness of the season when little do they know this day will change their lives forever. A band of Indian warriors take captive the two sisters, setting fire to their cabin and before separating them Regina makes a promise to her older sister. Barbara is taken deep into the wilderness, and the only thing she holds onto for years to come is the hope that she will one day find her little sister. This is a story of faith and trust in not only God but as sisters; setting an example of how we should today treat and love them. This book was made into a movie, and I personally haven't seen it yet, (if you have please tell me in the comments below if it was good) but i personally would read the book first before going to see the move. This book is great for all ages, and I remember reading it as a young girl, completely falling in love with it and the story line that I read it multiple times. I hope you all enjoyed these reviews, and please let me know if you all have read or will read these books, and your little take on them! I would love to hear from you all. Also, if y'all would like me to do more of these, or suggest some books I should read and do reviews on, I would love that as well. xoxo, Merritt |
