I have to admit it. I'm completely in love with poloroids. I can't help it. Ugh. It's the good kind of obsession though. I got my blue Instax poloroid camera this summer, and for the last month of so I've been having a blast messing around with it.
If you don't know what a poloroid camera is (try to say that five times fast), well let me tell you. It's a vintage inspired camera that you insert film into and when you take a picture, the picture is printed out onto small credit card sized white card thingys. Basically every hipster's dream. Mine is light blue and a d o r a b l e. I can't explain how many instagram pictures I've posted featuring my poloroids. I take it almost everywhere with me, because its the best way to capture memories in my opinion. My goal is to take it on a disney day really soon! Anyway, I wanted to share with you my tips if you want to buy your own camera. They are a little pricey, so I do have some suggestions. But in my opinion, they're totally worth it. |
T I P S for your Poloroid Camera: 1) Watch your price - I bought mine online, and I reccomend that because they seem to be cheaper there. I ordered from Amazon and got it within a couple of days. What was really surprising is that the blue version of the camera (it comes in many colors) was cheaper than the yellow, pink, and white! That's something to think about, because it was about a $10 difference. My camera was $65, actually a really good deal for a poloroid camera. It was brand new as well :) 2) Film Film Film - Whats probably more expensive about a poloroid camera is the film. You can go through a lot of film if you're not careful. I've almost used up the 50-pack that I bought with the camera, though I have taken some photos of friends and fam. Anyway, film can be really expensive, up to $1-2 per pic. I bought a 50-pack for $35 which was actually a great deal. Again, I believe this camera is a great investment. So my tip is to compare prices of film before purchasing. 3) Buy a case - This is something I regret not doing. Cases specially designed for poloroids are avaliable online for $20-30 and I wish I bought one. I've taken my camera on two campingish trips now and had to wrap it safely in a sweatshirt to keep it safe in my bag. I think a case would be a great investment and want to work on getting one soon! hope this interests you in getting a poloroid! I highly reccomend it! Happy clicking! xo, Claire |
