If you know me, you know I love Disneyland. Like looooooove. Being a SoCal resident, I find many of my days spent walking around the magical theme park known as Disneyland. I have an annual pass, and have had one as long as I can remember, so I know the ropes. I want to share my 8 best tips for you that could make you days at Disneyland amazing, whether in California, Florida, or at any of the Disney parks all over the world!
# 1 - Prioritize, Prioritize, Prioritize Disneyland can be crazy busy. It's best if you have a goal of what you want to see/ride on before hand, so that you can hit up your must-haves. I also recommend heading for the biggest rides first, they'll most likely be busier as the day goes on. Rides like Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, Matterhorn and Indiana Jones can have insane lines within a little bit of opening. #2 - Walk Only When You Have To At Disneyland, they have a train that goes all around the outside of the park. They also have a variety of cars that can take you up and down mainstreet very quickly. Trust me, your feet will thank you later. #3 - Always have your Camera Out One of my favorite things about Disneyland is capturing the memories. I hold my phone in my hand, and I'm not afraid to look like a tourist with the freakish amount of pictures I take. I have a board on my Pinterest (@claireeebutler or the link below) where I just post Disney pictures, mainly cause' they're so dang cute. hehe. #4 - Talk to Cast Members - The cast members (or employees lol) are super duper friendly (most of the time). If you're in line and theres one right next to you, have a chat. You never know what valuable piece of information they'll give you or a tip they might share. Also, don't be afraid to ask for wait times or when a certain thing might be happening. #5 - Bring your own Water - This is a must or you'll be poppin' $5 just for a bottle of water. So.not.worth.it. #6 AC'd rides - Best part of the day is the indoor rides with the amazing AC. This can be found in Innovations, Ariel, all Fantasyland rides, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, and more. Sometimes it's just nice to relax and enjoy a simple ride. #7 Don't be afraid to act Weird - I'm going to be honest, I l o v e meeting the disney princesses. I love going on the cheesy little rides. I love asking people to take pictures of me and my friends in front of the castle like we're tourists. Because at Disneyland, you get to be a kid again. #8 Secret Spots no One Knows About - Behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, theres an area called Big Thunder Ranch with a petting zoo and restaurant. If you keep walking up and past the petting zoo into the Ranch, they have a special area where 5-7 woodland Disney characters hang out and where they have live entertainment. It secluded and not many people know about it. Also, if you like Superheros, check out Innovations! Its in Tomorrowland at the back. You can meet Captain America and Thor, and theres hardly anyone there. Also, look for Pixie Hollow and the Princess Pavilion for Meet and Greets with you favorite Pixies & Princesses.
